Borsalino honors legendary Hollywood actor Humphrey Bogart with the much-anticipated sixth edition collectible. Borsalino celebrates one of the most elegant stars of all time with the new Bogart by Borsalino Cut 6, a hat inspired by the extraordinary actor and his style that has influenced design aesthetic for entire generations. This sixth collector’s item is the final model in the ongoing capsule series launched every season since 2017 and born from a special collaboration between the Italian Maison and the Humphrey Bogart Estate.
The Bogart by Borsalino Cut 6 favors the Hollywood actor’s unmistakable medium brim and high dome felt hat and the charm of timeless style. Paired with a contemporary sequence of special details designed by the Maison’s Creative Curator Giacomo Santucci that highlight unique combinations of soft shaved felt in a jorasse color paired with a new optical Croc-Graphic hat ribbon, it is a perfect piece for both Him and Her.
Inside the hat are two dedicated Bogart tributes featuringa stylized silhouette embossed on the satin lining and one of his most famous phrases: “The problem with the world is that everyone is few drinks behind” engraved on the black leather Moroccan internal band. And not to be missed is the exclusive hat box with optical motifs created specifically as a collectible.
Between 1930 and 1950, Humphrey Bogart starred in dozens of films playing tough-hearted characters. His most famous role as Rick Blaine in Casablanca, Michael Curtiz’s 1942 masterpiece, where Bogie wears a noteworthy Borsalino throughout the film, rendered the hat iconic status within Hollywood history. Many other cinematic greats have followed wearing Borsalino throughout the decades including Marcello Mastroianni in 8 and 1⁄2 and Robert De Niro in Once Upon a time in America.
In 1970’s, Borsalino consolidated its ongoing relationship with the artistic world of filmwhen the Maison granted the use of its name to two cult films by Jacque Deray entitled: Borsalino and Borsalino & Co.
